LIMPIO DESIGNS

Before the GOONS I was painting under the name Limpio. My focus was on painting endangered animals in different cities in the world. I mainly focused on painting for local businesses or in association with non-profits, tying the themes of endangered animals and plants to the social context of the everyday struggles of gentrification and loss of identity through losing local businesses as a result of economic struggles.

I also played with the idea of juxtaposing pockets of nature in highly urban areas in different cities, reminding people of the beauty of nature we so easily forget in the city grind.

I approached this style of painting using more classical realism techniques and painting with a combination of both spray paint and latex paints.
